Updating to Lollipop 5.0.2

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update rolling out to Moto X 2nd GenMotorola

The highly anticipated Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) firmware update is now official for users of Moto X (2014) having subscribed to AT&T's wireless network service in the US.

Making the latest rollout official, Motorola and AT&T jointly stated that users can check for the latest Android Lollipop bearing build number22.21.34 via OTA.

Users have been informed that they will not be able to downgrade to a previous software version, after installing the latest Android Lollipop update.

Key features brought along with the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, for AT&T-driven second-gen Moto X smartphones:

Material design: A whole new colourful look and feel - from fluid animations to new application and system themes, colours and widgets.

Notification UI: Notifications will appear on the lock screen and are intelligently ranked by type and who sent them.

Recent apps: Redesigned Overview space includes both applications and separate activities within those applications.

Moto Display/Ambient Display feature: Moto Display will continue to surface relevant notifications to users using the low-power Contextual Computing Processor.

Flashlight: Lollipop includes a new flashlight option as part of Quick settings.

New battery saver mode: The Battery settings panel now shows an estimated projection for how much time is left while discharging or charging. Users can also enable a new battery saver mode that will save power by reducing performance and most background data operations to extend battery life.

Smart Lock: Android Lollipop adds native support for allowing trusted devices to keep Moto X 2014) smartphones unlocked (such as Moto 360, a Bluetooth car kit or headset, etc). Smart Lock replaces the prior trusted device capability in Motorola phones.

Moto Assist and Downtime: Moto Assist integrates the new Downtime feature within Android Lollipop to control when users don't want to be disturbed.

Pin a view/application: Screen pinning allows users to keep a specific app or screen in view.

How to download and install new Android Lollipop update within AT&T-driven Moto X (2014) handsets:

If you have received a notification message for this update:

Select "Yes, I'm in".

After the software is downloaded, 

select "Install now".

After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

Your phone is now updated with build number 22.21.34.

If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.

Select "About phone".

Select "System updates".

Select "Yes, I'm in". 

After the software is downloaded, 

select "Install now".

After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

Your phone is now updated to 22.21.34.
